We drain and then clean the pool cover
If you have a winter cover or a solid safety cover, we will drain the water before removing it. We place a cover pump on the cover and let the pump do the work. We will make sure all of the leaves are off the cover by sweeping them off. This lessens the amount of debris in the water and also will make for a much easier closing the following winter.
We then remove the pool cover
We then remove the cover from your pool. We will then be shocking and cleaning your pool
We clean and store the pool cover until winter
After removing the pool cover we lay it out and brush away all of the remaining debris and clean the cover with soap and water. We then fold your pool cover loosely and store in a cool, dry place.
We instruct you on where to raise the water level
The normal level is typically around halfway up the tile or the middle of your skimmer opening. We will leave your system primed (full of water) so when you turn on your pump operation will start smoothly.
We then reconnect your pool equipment
From preparing your pool for freezing temperatures over the previous winter, we reconnect all your pool equipment. We reconnect your pump, filter, heater and anything else.
We then remove winter plugs and re-attach drains
We will take out all your winterizing plugs from your pool equipment. This may include your filter, pump, booster pump, heater, and pool cleaners. We then reinstall every normal drain plug.
We then remove winterizing plugs from pool
Fill the underground plumbing back up with water. We then reconnect any return valve fittings if they were removed before the winter.
We then turn your system back on
We then turn on most of your pool equipment. We prime the pump and turn on the circulation and filtration system. If you have an air relief valve on your filter, we open it to bleed the all of air from your system.
Last step is you will test the pool chemistry
After we you run the circulation system for several days, you then test your pool water for your pH, Total Alkalinity, and your pool’s Chlorine levels using a test kit or strips. If we need to come back for a low service call fee we will then make sure your levels are perfect and you are good to go.
